Ok so one day when I was Stumbling (if you don’t know what that is… for shame lol), I came across a tutorial for making yarn from old t-shirts!!!! Ok so you know that got my attention, I love yarn!
And I have t-shirts…so do my boys…and hubby….and I have scissors….Uh oh….we may need to buy them new shirts 😛
I know just about everyone has a t-shirt that someone gave you as a promotion, or whatever that you just don’t wear, but you just don’t get rid of it, well check this out:
Make T-Shirt Yarn Tutorial:
This tutorial will show you how to turn that unloved t-shirt into awesome yarn! Your project will be unique because of the yarn used. Also this is a great way to keep things out of the land fills, and if your yarn stash is getting low along with your cash flow….you can make FREE Yarn!!
Ok, so when I was looking for some more T-Shirt Yarn tutorials, I did a search for “recycled yarn”, and well…I came up with some other fun, free yarns you can make at home. I bet you have some of these things too:
In our area they have started charging $0.05 ea for plastic grocery bags, so I know not everyone buys them around here anymore. Plus those reusable bags are much more popular, and you can save the environment by using them. With that being said (don’t lynch me for this next part), we buy the plastic bags. The thing is, we have kitties, and where we live we have to throw the litter in the garbage, and can’t put it in the compost bin. However, many of the bags we do buy, have big holes in the bottom by the time we get them home. That means we can’t use them for kitty litter bags. So I do have a huge pile of them. I will use some for our garage sale, but if I have a lot left over, I think it might be fun to try to make this yarn!
