In only a second, it transports you to the Burgundy region of France. It adds a new dimension to your dishes, from the simple to the more sophisticated, and adds refinement and piquancy.
This mustard matches perfectly with a potato puree, cheese toasts, or even a risotto served with a roasted beef. It’s a key ingredient for an assortments of sauces and vinaigrettes, and a must-have for the culinary enthusiast.
Look how beautiful this stuff looks on the inside:
I actually think all of their products look pretty in the jars. I mean, I know that’s not why I am getting them, but it helps when they look good. And they taste good. You can really taste the quality, and the quality ingredients.
In the name of being a good reviewer….and only for that reason….not because I am a bad snacker…. I may have popped this jar of pickles open and sat here and ate quite a few on my own. I didn’t share.
But because I am such a good reviewer, I can tell you that this jar of pickles is awesome in taste. But also awesome because it has a pickle lifter! You pull up the little ring, and voila it lifts all the pickles up! I have seen those pickle things from Tupperware that I thought were awesome, but the thought of having to dump pickles in it each time and clean it in between seems silly. Voila! It is right in the pickle jar. Ok….little things make me happy. But I like when a company has attention to such small details! It means they took care of the big and little things.
Made according to the French recipe and traditions for that extra tart bite, these special little pickled gherkins are a perfectly balanced garnish for a meat terrine, pate or gruyere cheese.
They are essential for nibbling when there is a plate of fennel salami or cured ham on the go. They also add flavour and are an essential component in classic dishes, ranging from steak tartar and sauce gribiche, to potato salad.
They have some very beautiful looking, and gourmet vinagers to add a little flash and sophistication to each dish.
A fan favourite, this heady, exotic and vibrant combination of flavours makes for a creative sweet and sour pairing of mango puree and vinegar.
Have some fun experimenting with this vinegar by adding a new twist to humble prawn cocktail or as a welcome fruity note to chicken and salads.
On their website, they have tips for each product, but they also have different recipes as well.
I decided to try the Maille Honey Mustard Popcorn recipe and share it here:
1. Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add kernels and stir until they have popped. Remove from heat.
2. Place the remaining oil, Maille Honey Mustard and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Boil and wait for sugar to caramelize (about 3-4 minutes).
3. Remove from heat and add baking soda.
4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and cover with popcorn.
5. Pour mustard and sugar mixture onto popcorn and let cool. Serve.
This was a very tasty treat!
