When you are married to a long time computer nerd, and are a review blogger, you get excited about reviewing things like hard drives. Also you learn that you can never have too many external hard drives.
This time hubby was able to check out the Seagate Duet Hard Drive. It’s a cloud-syncing Portable Hard Drive for Amazon Drive. Seagate and Amazon Drive have partnered together to offer a hard drive, and cloud storage for back up in one simple to use device.
Of course when my hubby saw the box for the Seagate Duet, he snatched it up. I know very little about these things so I told him he could keep it if he was willing to review it for me.
My hubby had it hooked up and working very quickly. In under a minute he had it hooked up, and 5+ years of videos from our family on it. He handed it to me, and said to check it out. I was surprised at how fast he had all those files loaded on it, and how quickly my computer accessed the files, and the drive.
Hubby really likes SSDs, but was really impressed with this drive even though it isn’t one. I thought that would cause him to not like it, but he was really happy with the drive. He said it is very fast because it is a USB 3.0 which is nice. He likes that it is really small, and is a good size of space at 1TB.
If you are a US resident you can have one free year of Amazon Drive Unlimited Storage! That means you can back up everything on to Amazon drive free for a year!! The Seagate Duet easily syncs all data on the drive to the cloud, so you don’t have to worry about not knowing how to do it! This also gives you access to your files pretty much anywhere you are.
Both hubby and I are really impressed with this drive, and highly recommend it. The only thing that I don’t understand about it is….where did it go? LOL After I handed it back to hubby, I never saw it again. I believe it made it into his stash and he is putting it to good use.
Of course…the other option is just to win a Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim 1TB here:
